Hey, Powerhouse, Whew! I won’t lie—I’m in the middle of a move, and it threw my schedule for a loop. If you noticed I missed an issue yesterday, that’s why. Life has been lifing, but here’s the thing: Even in chaos, we still show up for what matters. And that brings me to today’s topic—navigating your voice and what you deserve. I’ve worked with so many high-achieving women in corporate who are phenomenal at advocating for others but struggle to speak up for themselves. I’ve been there too. It’s easy to second-guess, to downplay, to think, maybe I should just be grateful for what I have. No. You deserve to take up space. You deserve to use your voice. And you deserve more—not because you’ve checked all the boxes, but because you are valuable. But here’s the kicker: The corporate world won’t hand you what you deserve just because you’ve worked hard. You have to articulate it. You have to ask. And that starts with getting crystal clear on your worth. Here’s how to navigate that: 1️⃣ Define What You Deserve – Stop waiting for someone to tell you what’s possible. What do you want? More pay? More leadership opportunities? More balance? If you don’t name it, you won’t claim it. 2️⃣ Reclaim Your Voice – If you’ve been keeping quiet, start small. Challenge yourself to speak up in meetings, share your ideas, and advocate for yourself. Your voice is an asset, not an afterthought. 3️⃣ Detach from Permission – Too many women wait for permission to go for that promotion, negotiate that offer, or shift careers.
